Miracle Principle 44

Principle 44: The miracle is an expression of an inner awareness of Christ and the acceptance of His Atonement. (T-1.I.44)

COURSE REFERENCES

This is a course in miracles. The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence, which is your natural inheritance. (T-in.1:6-7)

Miracles reawaken the awareness that the spirit, not the body, is the altar of truth. This is the recognition that leads to the healing power of the miracle. (T-1.I.20:1-2)

The Holy Spirit uses time, but does not believe in it. The Holy Spirit uses everything you have made for His purpose, including time. Time is not fleeting, passing, going. It is YOU who are passing. Time is where it is. Watches and clocks measure the “passing” of time. Yet do they? Or are the clocks just ticking away, measuring nothing? Coming from God the Holy Spirit uses everything for good, but does not believe in what is not true. Since the Holy Spirit is in your mind, your mind also believes only what is true. The Holy Spirit tells you to return your whole mind to God, because it never left Him. Awareness of the Atonement, then, is the recognition that the separation never occurred. The ego cannot prevail against this because it is an explicit statement that the ego never occurred, and thus neither did time as time is of the ego, thus not real. Eternity is of God. (T-6.II.10:1-8)

The ego can accept the idea that “return” is necessary (to where you never left), because it can so easily make the idea seem difficult. Yet the Holy Spirit tells you that even return is unnecessary, and what never happened cannot be difficult. However, you can make the idea of return both necessary and difficult. Yet it is surely clear that the perfect need nothing. You cannot experience perfection as a difficult accomplishment, because perfection is what you are. (T-6.II.11:1-4)

This is the way in which you must perceive God’s creations, bringing all of your perceptions into the one line the Holy Spirit sees. This line is the direct line of communication with God, and lets your mind converge with His. There is no conflict anywhere in this perception, because it means that all perception is guided by the Holy Spirit, Whose Mind is fixed on God. Only the Holy Spirit can resolve conflict, because only the Holy Spirit is conflict-free. He perceives only what is true in your mind, and extends outward only to what is true in other minds. (T-6.II.11:5-9)

The difference between the ego’s projection and the Holy Spirit’s extension is very simple. The ego projects to exclude, and therefore to deceive. The Holy Spirit extends by recognizing Himself in every mind, and thus perceives them as one. Nothing conflicts in this perception because what the Holy Spirit perceives is all the same. Wherever He looks He sees Himself, and because He is united He offers the whole Kingdom always. This is the one message God gave to Him and for which He must speak, because that is what He is. The peace of God lies in that message, and so the peace of God lies in you. The great peace of the Kingdom shines in your mind forever, Son of God, but it must shine outward for you to be aware of it. (T-6.II.12:1-8)

The Holy Spirit was given you with perfect impartiality, and only by recognizing Him impartially can you recognize Him at all. The ego is legion, but the Holy Spirit is one. No darkness abides anywhere in the Kingdom, but your part is only to allow no darkness to abide in your own mind. This alignment with light is unlimited, because it is in alignment with the light of the world. Each of us is the light of the world, and by joining our minds in this light we proclaim the Kingdom of God together as one. (T-6.II.13:1-5)

The miracle is a sign that the mind has chosen to be led by Jesus in Christ’s service. The abundance of Christ is the natural result of choosing to follow Him. (T-1.V.6:1-2)

Be confident that you have never lost your Identity and the extensions which maintain It in wholeness and peace. Miracles are an expression of this confidence. They are reflections of both your proper identification with your brothers, and of your awareness that your identification is maintained by extension. The miracle is a lesson in total perception. By including any part of totality in the lesson, you have included the Whole. (T-7.IX.7:1-4)

Everything God created is like Him. Extension, as undertaken by God, is similar to the inner radiance that the children of the Father inherit from Him. Its real source is internal. This is as true of the Son as of the Father. This requires God’s endowment of the Son with free will, because all loving creation is freely given in one continuous line, in which all aspects are of the same order. (T-2.I.2:3-6,8)

The First Coming of Christ is merely another name for the creation, for Christ is the Son of God. The Second Coming of Christ means nothing more than the end of the ego’s rule and the healing of the mind. Jesus was created like you in the First, and he has called you to join with him in the Second. He is in charge of the Second Coming, and his judgment, which is used only for protection, cannot be wrong because it never attacks. Your judgment may be so distorted that you believe Jesus was mistaken in choosing you. Be assured this is a mistake of your ego. Do not mistake it for humility. Your ego is trying to convince you that it is real and Jesus is not, because if Jesus is real, he is no more real than you are. That knowledge, and be assured that it is knowledge, means that Christ has come into your mind and healed it. (T-4.IV.10:1-9)

The Holy Spirit is the Christ Mind which is aware of the knowledge that lies beyond perception. He came into being with the separation as a protection, inspiring the Atonement principle at the same time. Before that there was no need for healing, for no one was comfortless. The Voice of the Holy Spirit is the Call to Atonement, or the restoration of the integrity of the mind. When the Atonement is complete and the whole Sonship is healed there will be no call to return. But what God creates is eternal. The Holy Spirit will remain with the Sons of God, to bless their creations and keep them in the light of joy. (T-5.I.5:1-7)

Read “The Christ in You.” (T-24.V.all)

The Christ in you is very still. He looks on what He loves, and knows it as Himself. And thus does He rejoice at what He sees, because He knows that it is one with Him and with His Father. (T-24.V.1:1-2)

Read “Walking with Christ.” (T-31.II.all)

For next to you is One Who holds the light before you, so that every step is made in certainty and sureness of the road. And He Who travels with you has the light.

Read “What is the Christ?” (W-pII.6.all – after W-270)

Christ is God’s Son as He created Him. So therefore let us seek to find Christ’s face and look on nothing else. As we behold His glory, will we know we have no need of learning or perception or of time, or anything except the holy Self, the Christ Whom God created as His Son. (W-pII.6.1:1,5:2-3)

Read “JESUS – CHRIST.” (C-5.all)

The Christ in you is very still and quiet. He knows that love is in you now. He knows where you are going and He leads you there, in gentleness and blessing, all the way -- to where GOD IS. (T-24.V.6.1-2)
