Principle 4: All miracles mean life, and God is the Giver of life. His Voice will direct you very specifically. You will be told all you need to know. (T-1.I.4)

We just learned that miracles are natural. If miracles are not occurring, something has gone wrong. Jesus' call to you to become a miracle worker is also natural, as natural as your answer and as inevitable. Jesus works with your higher mind, the home of the Holy Spirit, whether you are asleep or awake, just as your ego does with your lower mind, which is its home. Jesus is your vigilance in this. He knows that your mind will elect to join with his, and that together you and he are invincible. He also knows that you and your brother will yet come together in his name, and that your sanity and your brother's will be restored.

Jesus inspires the dispirited and stabilizes the unstable. He heals the sick, raises the dead, walks on water and turns water into wine. Jesus knows and does all these things. And he has called you to work by his side, together with him, to bestow miracles upon those whom he knows are ready. He knows that you will answer his call and what your answer will be -- he would not have called you if you were not ready.

Jesus is the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, God's Voice, speaks to you all through the day. It is quite possible to hear Him without interrupting your regular activities in any way. The part of your mind in which truth abides is in constant communication with God, whether you are aware of it or not. Sleeping, waking, it does not matter. The part of your mind that is listening to the Voice for God is calm, always at rest and wholly certain. And it is really the only part there is. Remembrance of reality is in Him, and therefore in you.

The other part of your mind is a wild illusion, frantic and distraught, but without reality of any kind. Do not listen to it. It is split from the truth and does not serve your highest and best interests. With that part of your mind you cannot understand miracles as it cannot hear or understand truth, nor can it reason. Therefore, any thoughts and actions made with the split mind lead away from life. A miracle is a correction that straightens your path once again so that you are headed toward life instead of away from it. Correction, therefore, must be left to One Who knows correction and forgiveness are the same. With half a mind this is not understood. Leave, then, correction to the Mind that is united, functioning as one because it is not split in purpose, and conceives a single function as its only one. In His acceptance of this function lies the means whereby your mind is unified. The light will shine from the true Foundation of life, and your own thought system will stand corrected.

God can communicate only to the Holy Spirit in your mind, because only He shares the knowledge of what you are with God. And only the Holy Spirit can answer God for you, for only He knows what God is. Everything else that you have placed within your mind cannot exist, for what is not in communication with the Mind of God has never been. Communication with God is life. Nothing without it is at all. (T-14.IV.10:3-7) The Holy Spirit is your holy communication link with God the Father.

What about your brothers?

The Holy Spirit teaches you to use your body only to reach your brothers, so He can teach His message to them through you. This will heal them and therefore heal you. As you give, so do you receive. Everything used in accordance with its function as the Holy Spirit sees it, cannot be sick. Everything used otherwise, is sick. Do not allow the body to be a mirror of a split mind. Do not let it be an image of your own perception of littleness. Do not let it reflect your decision to attack. Health is seen as the natural state of everything when interpretation is left to the Holy Spirit Who perceives no attack on anything. Health is the result of relinquishing all attempts to use the body lovelessly. Health is the beginning of the proper perspective on life under the guidance of the one Teacher Who knows what life is, being the Voice for Life Itself. Rise above the base thoughts of the world into health and happiness. Show your brother what can be. He will surely be willing to hear the Holy Spirit's message through someone who is obviously listening, hearing and understanding Him.

There is not a moment in which His Voice fails to direct your thoughts, guide your actions and lead your feet. You need be anxious over nothing. For God's Voice will tell you what to do and where to go, to whom to speak and what to say to him, what thoughts to think, what words to give the world. As you listen and follow Him you are walking steadily on toward truth. And as you help your brothers by allowing the Holy Spirit to teach His messages to them through you, they will be walking to truth along with you.

You can do much on behalf of your own healing and that of others if, in a situation calling for help, you think of it this way:

I am here only to be truly helpful.

I am here to represent Him Who sent me.

I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do, because He Who sent me will direct me.

I am content to be wherever He wills, knowing He goes there with me.

I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal.

The truly helpful are God's miracle workers, whom Jesus directs until all are united in the joy of the Kingdom. He will direct you to wherever you can be truly helpful, and to whomever can follow his guidance through you. In time, you have been told to offer miracles as Jesus directs. He knows the readiness of your brothers for miracles. Let the Holy Spirit bring to you those who are seeking you.

The Holy Spirit guides you into life eternal, but you must relinquish your investment in the split mind, or you will not see life though it is all around you. Listen to Him. Listen in deep silence. Be very still and open your mind. Sink deep into peace that waits for you beyond all thoughts of this world. Do not tarry. Your home is not in the world. You have a real home, a place where you are truly welcome. Heaven is where you are welcome and where GOD IS.
