Miracle Principle 33

Principle 33: Miracles honor you because you are lovable. They dispel illusions about yourself and perceive the light in you. They thus atone for your errors by freeing you from your nightmares. By releasing your mind from the imprisonment of your illusions, they restore your sanity. (T-1.I.33)

Miracles praise God through you. They praise Him by honoring His creations, affirming their perfection. They heal because they deny body-identification and affirm spirit-identification. (T-1.29.1-3)

Give only honor to the Sons of the living God, and count yourself among them gladly. Only honor is a fitting gift for those whom God Himself created worthy of honor, and whom He honors. Give them the appreciation God accords them always, because they are His beloved Sons in whom He is well pleased. You cannot be apart from them because you are not apart from Him. (T-7.VII.5:8,6:1-3)

The Holy Spirit asks you but this; bring to Him every secret you have locked away from Him. Open every door to Him and bid Him enter the darkness and lighten it away. At your request He enters gladly. He brings the light to darkness if you make the darkness open to Him. But what you hide He cannot look upon. He sees for you, and unless you look with Him, He cannot see. The vision of Christ is not for Him alone, but for Him with you. Bring, therefore, all your dark and secret thoughts to Him, and look upon them with Him. He holds the light, and you hold the darkness. The light and the darkness cannot coexist when both you and the Holy Spirit together look on them. His judgment of light must prevail and He will give it to you as you join your perception to His. (T-14.VII.6:1-11)

You cannot see alone. Sharing perception with Him Whom God has given you teaches you how to recognize what you see. It is the recognition that nothing you see means anything alone. Seeing with Him will show you that all meaning, including yours, comes not from double vision, but from the gentle fusing of everything into one meaning, one emotion and one purpose. God has One Purpose which He shares with you. The single vision which the Holy Spirit offers you will bring this oneness to your mind with clarity and brightness so intense you could not wish, for all the world, not to accept what God would have you have. Behold your will, accepting it as His, with all His Love as yours. All honor to you through Him, and through Him unto God. (T-14.VII.7:2-9)

You are the work of God, and His work is wholly lovable and wholly loving. This is how a man must think of himself in his heart, because this is what he is. (T-1.III.2:3-4)

Rest in His Love and protect your rest by loving. But love everything He created of which you are a part, or you cannot learn of His peace and accept His gift for yourself and as yourself. You cannot know your own perfection until you have honored all those who were created like you. (T-7.VII.6:4-6) You cannot see your brothers as less than you or see yourself as “special.” You ARE each other. All are welcome in His sight – let them be welcome in yours!

The distractions of the ego may seem to interfere with your learning, but the ego has no power to distract you unless you give it the power to do so. The ego’s voice is an hallucination. You cannot expect it to say: “I am not real.” Yet you are not asked to dispel your hallucinations alone. You are merely asked to evaluate them in terms of their results to you. If you do not want them on the basis of loss of peace, they will be removed from your mind for you. (T-8.I.2:1-6)

The Holy Spirit makes no distinction among dreams. He merely shines them away. His light is always the call to awaken, whatever you have been dreaming. Nothing lasting lies in dreams, and the Holy Spirit, shining with the Light from God Himself, speaks only for what lasts forever. (T-6.V.4:4-7)

Illusions are investments. They will last as long as you value them. Values are relative, but they are powerful because they are mental judgments. The only way to dispel illusions is to withdraw all investment from them; and they will have no life for you because you will have put them out of your mind. While you include illusions in your mind, you are giving life to them. Except there is nothing there to receive your gift. (T-7.VII.4:1-6)

How can you wake children in a more kindly way than by a gentle Voice That will not frighten them, but will merely remind them that the night is over and the light has come? You do not inform them that the nightmares that frightened them so badly are not real, because children believe in magic. You merely reassure them that they are safe now. Then you train them to recognize the difference between sleeping and waking, so they will understand they need not be afraid of dreams. And so, when bad dreams come, they will themselves call on the light to dispel them. (T-6.V.2:1-5)

Jesus’ purpose, then, is still to overcome the world. He does not attack it, but his light must dispel it because of what it is. Light does not attack darkness, but it does shine it away. If his light goes with you everywhere, you shine it away with him. The light becomes his and yours, and you cannot abide in darkness any more than darkness can abide wherever you go. The remembrance of Jesus is the remembrance of yourself, and of Him Who sent Jesus to you. (T-8.IV.2:8-13)

“I am as God created me.” In this one thought is all the past undone; the present saved to quietly extend into a timeless future. If you are as God created you, then there has been no separation of your mind from His, no split between your mind and other minds, and only unity within your own mind. The healing power of today’s idea is limitless. It is the birthplace of all miracles, the great restorer of the truth to the awareness of the world. (W-110.h.4:1-2,5:1-2) It is God’s Word!

By these words all the world of illusions disappears. There is no dream these words will not dispel; no thought of sin and no illusion which the dream contains that will not fade away before their might. They are the trumpet of awakening that sounds around the world. The dead awake in answer to its call. And those who live and hear this sound will never look on death. Rise with these words in your mind, recall them throughout the day; at night bring them with you as you go to sleep. Your dreams will be happy and your rest secure, your safety certain and your body healed, because you sleep and wake with the truth before you always. With the truth of these words you will save the world, because as you give them, you receive them. (W-162)

All things work together for good. There are no exceptions except in the ego’s judgment. The ego exerts maximal vigilance about what it permits into awareness and raises control rather than sanity to predominance. Sane judgment would inevitably judge against the ego and must be obliterated by the ego in the interest of its self-preservation. A major source of the ego’s off-balanced state is its lack of discrimination between the body and the Thoughts of God. Thoughts of God are unacceptable to the ego, because they clearly point to the nonexistence of the ego itself. The ego therefore either distorts them or refuses to accept them. (T-4.V.2:1-3)

Jesus does not attack your ego. He works with your higher mind, the home of the Holy Spirit, whether you are asleep or awake, just as your ego does with your lower mind, which is its home. Jesus is your vigilance in this. Your mind will elect to join with the mind of Jesus, and together you are invincible. You and your brother will yet come together in his name, and your sanity will be restored.

Today, do not doubt His Love for you, nor question His protection and His care. Feel Him in your heart. Let your mind contain His Thoughts, your eyes behold His loveliness in all you look upon. Today, see only the loving and the lovable as all God’s Sons are, and as GOD IS. (W-124.4:1-6)
