Lesson 337: My sinlessness protects me from all harm.

This is a lesson about accepting the Atonement. There are two steps to happiness:

• Accept your Self as God created you, perfect, whole and complete.

• Realize that you need do nothing of yourself.

All the turmoil and discomfort you experience in this world come from thinking that you lack something (the result of not seeing step 1), and therefore thinking you have to do something to manifest what you think you lack (the result of not seeing step 2). You lack nothing, as all was given you in your creation, and God does not take anything back that He gave you. Know this: God created you perfect, even as He is perfect. If you have chosen to ignore His gift of perfection, or to replace it with the idea of imperfection – then rest in this truly helpful idea: you may choose again to accept your perfection right here and right now!

Yet HOW may I do that? When you deliberately stop your mindless mental activity, happiness will suddenly come upon you. You will remember that you always have been happy, you are now happy, and you always will be happy. Simply stop all ego thoughts, and your everlasting happiness will shine through – as when clouds are cleared and the sun is still there shining as always. All you must do is stop frenetically doing all that the ego tells you to do and instead listen quietly and calmly to the Holy Spirit tell you that you need do nothing. He will tell you who you truly are. As you hear Him, awareness of everlasting perfection and happiness shine forth. So it is easy.

Lesson 338: I am affected only by my thoughts.

Adhering to this idea in its entirety, is enough to release everyone from fear. Since you are only affected by your own thoughts, and since you have the power to exchange thoughts that appear to hurt and frighten you, then this leaves you in charge. You have a kingdom you must rule. This kingdom is your mind. So exchange each fear thought for a happy thought of love and watch the resulting transformation of your mind. Exchange the spurious “gifts” of the ego, for the true gifts of God! Rule your mind with thoughts of strength, kindness and love. God has planned that His beloved Son will be redeemed and will be led safely home. And only His plan is sure – only His!

Lesson 339: I will receive whatever I request.

Everyone will receive whatever he requests. Looking at your life as you experience it here on earth, would you say that you may have been confused about what you thought you wanted? What could you request that you would truly want, that would change your life as you see it for a life that is completely and utterly happy, one that is totally at ease with the truth of your brothers and your Self? The answer is in the following prayer:

Father, I request only what you offer me; I accept only Thoughts You share with me. This is Your day. It is a day in which I would do nothing by myself but hear Your Voice in everything I do. Amen.

Lesson 340: I can be free of suffering today.

Be still. Be quiet. Hear God’s Voice directing you to find Christ’s vision through forgiveness, and be free forever from all suffering. Be Glad. Be glad today and every day that there is no need to suffer, that there is no room in the holy mind of God for anything but love and joy and gratitude every moment of every day. Be glad that no one will be left in fear. The Father will gather all His Sons to Himself in love, and you will awaken embraced by Him in the Heart of Love -- in Heaven.

Theme of Relevance 13. What is a Miracle?

A miracle is a correction. It undoes error and paves the way for the return of timelessness and love's awakening, for fear must slip away under the gentle remedy the correction of the miracle brings. As long as the truth beyond the error is seen, there is no longer a reason to see the error and no longer a reason not to forgive. Now that perception is corrected, and truth is seen, mercy and love take the place of unforgiveness, and "your everlasting happiness will shine through."

Asking for a miracle implies that the mind has been made ready and is now willing to conceive of what it cannot yet see and does not yet understand. Is your mind ready? Are you willing? Have you asked for a miracle today?

Lesson 341: I can attack but my own sinlessness, and it is only that which keeps me safe.

How do you attack your sinlessness? By seeing yourself as sinful, of course, and by not seeing that you are the holy Son of God created in sinlessness. You are pure, holy and safe, abiding in His grace, with all His Love bestowed upon you, in sinlessness so complete and perfect that the Lord of Sinlessness conceives of YOU as HIS SON, with a universe of Thought completing you.

Whenever you attack a brother, you are actually doing nothing. And this is true even when your brother is reflecting your attack thoughts by appearing to counter-attack you. He is doing nothing also. You both are only appearing to attack each other and yourselves, by using the process of projection and reflection. This is when and how your sinlessness appears to come under attack and when and how you perceive yourself as unsafe.

How foolish, then, to attack at all, when all you attack is yourself. So instead of attacking, LAUGH and be safe, remembering that only God’s Word is true of you and your brother -- only GOD IS.

Lesson 342: I let forgiveness rest upon all things, for thus forgiveness will be given me.

Just as when you appear to attack a brother you are really only attacking yourself, so when you forgive a brother, you are really only forgiving yourself. So begin this lesson with gratitude for the Plan of Atonement (undoing of error). This is the plan to save you from what the ego has made, and restore your mind to the truth. Remember, only illusions must be forgiven. The truth obviously needs no forgiveness. Only the truth is true.

There is a valid reason to look past illusions and past attack, for they are not of God. There is no valid reason for looking past the truth, for it is the truth that will set you free from illusions and thus from all desire to attack. Attack is useless; it accomplishes nothing that you want. You must therefore be willing to let go of your investment in seeing your own sins in your brother (sins which your ego says are his and not yours), and be willing instead to release them and your brother. If you are judging your brothers and yourself and the world by the ego’s criteria, then realize here and now that there is no falser criteria than this. Release all things, and let creation be as God would have it be. Then will forgiveness be yours. Then will happiness be yours as well.

Lesson 343: I am not asked to make a sacrifice to find the mercy and the peace of God.

The mercy and the peace of God are free. Salvation (finding your way to Thoughts of God and Oneness) has no cost. It is a gift that must be freely given and freely received as it comes from God, your Father, and He never asks for “payment” from His Son. The only thing you must give up to become aware that the mercy and peace of God are yours – are your “blinders.” Is this a sacrifice? To give up ignorance and fear for love? Or is this rather a BLESSING?
