Enlightenment

Understanding Miracle Enlightenment is a wonderful prelude to welcoming enlightenment into your life, and to being truly helpful to others in welcoming enlightenment into theirs. The first step is to learn about enlightenment and its purpose. The second step is to learn about miracles and how they serve as a happy means for awakening to enlightenment and returning to LOVE.

Enlightenment is a recognition that you bear a light that is not of the world. It shines in you because it lights your home and leads you back to where it came from and where you are at home. From that light within is where all vision starts. It alone has power to give the gift of sight to you. The peace of God is shining in you now and from your heart extends around the world bringing renewal to all tired hearts, leaving a blessing that remains forever and forever. It purifies all wandering thoughts and brings them back in line with all the thoughts we share with God; thus are all minds restored to the holiness of their natural inheritance along with ours. This light cannot be lost. It shines in you to lead you back to peace, and to remind you how you must return. Yet why wait to find it in the future, when it can be so easily looked upon now?* (ACIM, W-188.)

We are told that God is but Love, and so are we, and only Love is real. Thus, the process which leads to the awakening of enlightenment can be said to be removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence. And what appears to block love but untruths -- or thoughts based on the absence of information or knowledge or true guidance? Many thoughts are distortions of the truth, or misperceptions accumulated bit by bit through the years. To unlearn them all and to replace them with the clarity of truth may initially appear to be a daunting task, yet even the longest journey begins with a single step. Enlightenment is spontaneous for some, as they simply choose to see the light, and they do. For many of us, it may take years of diligent attention to correct our false perceptions to unblock the light. This website is being offered to the reader to significantly shorten this process, which brings us to one definition of miracles:

A miracle is a correction introduced into false thinking by [Jesus].

It acts as a catalyst, breaking up erroneous perception and reorganizing it properly.

(ACIM.T-1.I.37.1-2)

The miracle process is under the direction of Jesus. He knows who is ready for a miracle. And he knows how best to bestow the miracle so the healing of false perception will be both joyful and effective for the miracle receiver. The effects of the miracle are received by both giver and receiver (as you give, so also do you receive), so to help your brother is to simultaneously help yourself. What helps you and your brother also helps the entire Sonship (sum of all that God created). The correction of even one misperception of truth is a Joy unlike any other. It has myriad wondrous effects, some of which may not even be obvious. The correction of all misperception is the completion of the Atonement (God's Plan of Salvation) -- and the mind is now fully awake and Enlightenment IS.

For the miracle process, Jesus has help with what A Course in Miracles* calls "Miracle Workers."  A miracle worker is one who is ready and willing to serve the purpose of performing miracles under Jesus' guidance. Miracles are not bestowed indiscriminately, but are directed toward those who can use them for themselves, and who will then extend them to others. Miracles can happen anytime and anywhere for anyone, so being alert is a valuable asset for a miracle worker (and for a miracle receiver). Jesus both trains and directs the miracle workers. Yet choosing to be a miracle worker does not mean that you have to quit your day job. It may in fact be where you are called to offer miracles, as miracles are beneficial wherever there is need for thought correction -- at work or at play or anywhere at all in the world.

It will greatly benefit each worker to learn the Principles of Miracles presented in A Course in Miracles* in Chapter One.  A short study of each miracle principle is offered in this website (in the next section) to help each reader facilitate a greater understanding of the various facets of miracles. Since practice is suggested, we will discuss one miracle principle at a time, from 1 to 50.

Being a miracle worker is far from being in a lowly subservient position. It is a "calling" that promises to bring ourselves and our brothers to the Light of the Love of God through the loving blessing of miracles. Can any service in this world be any higher? Jesus serves in much the same way, albeit with greater experience and wisdom. We are greatly blessed to have the benefit of his counsel and direction in our miracle work today. To know and to be moved by the Love of God within is to see the world anew, shining in innocence, alive with hope, and blessed with perfect charity and love, reflecting a world of quietness and peace, gentleness and joy. Much as two candles emit more than twice the light of one, is it any wonder that sharing the Love of God and this new world of hope with our brothers -- through miracles guided by Jesus -- will greatly amplify our mutual Light and Joy?

Is being a Miracle Worker, then, a worthy calling for the Son of God? IT IS!

As you join us in reading and studying the Principles of Miracles presented herein, you will begin to determine if being a miracle worker is your calling. In truth, it cannot but be, though the time you choose to answer the call is up to you ~
